Anant Kaal Sarpa Yoga

Definition: Anant Kaal Sarp Yoga is the first Kaal Sapr Yoga and is formed when Rahu is placed in Lagna (Ascendant) and Ketu is in the 7th house and all the planets are on one side of Rahu-Ketu axis.

Remarks: Before proceeding with Kaal Sarp Yoga, we have to understand few things about Rahu and Ketu:

(a) Rahu and Ketu are Karmic control planets. Rahu indicates qualities and karma we need to develop and fulfill in this life. Ketu indicates qualities and karma we carry from past lifetimes.

(b) Kaal Sarp yoga can be positive as well as negative. (Example of positive Kaal Sarp yoga for Sachin Tendulkar)

(c) Natural malefic planets give favorable results when they are placed in Upachaya houses (3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses) and this holds true for Rahu and Ketu.

(d) Rahu in Upachaya houses will be more favorable and Ketu in Upachaya houses will be mostly unfavorable as they are always opposite to each other.

(e) When Rahu or Ketu are in Kendra, the malefic effect of the Kaal Sarp yoga is enhanced.

(f) Sun or Moon in the 8th or 12th house from Rahu, the malefic effect of the Kaal Sarp yoga is enhanced.

(g) If the Sun or Moon is placed with the Rahu or Ketu then positive or negative effect of the Kaal Sarp yoga will be enhanced.

(h) Positively, Ketu is the karaka or significator of spiritual knowledge and moksha or the final liberation.

(i) As per ancient scriptures Rahu acts like Saturn and Ketu like Mars.

Activation of Kaal Sarp Yoga in horoscope:
Rahu and Ketu takes 18.5 years to circle the zodiac, that is they return to their original place as occupied in birth horoscope during 18th, 37th, 55th, 73rd years (and so on) of age. Similarly Rahu will transit the place occupied by Ketu and Ketu will transit the place of Rahu in any horoscope during about 9th, 27th, 45th, 64th years (and so on) of age. Apart for Maha Dasha or Major period of Rahu and Ketu or their sub periods or Antar Dasha and during their transits in one's life as mentioned above Kaal Sarp Yoga will get activated and will produce whatever result promised as per their placement. If the Kaal Sarp Yoga is very malefic or very favorable then its result will be felt through out the life.

Considering all the above facts and information and my personal experience, I can say that all types of Kaal Sarp Yoga are not malefic or unfavorable. Sachin Tendulkar has 6th house Rahu and 12th house Ketu. The 6th house being an Upachaya house the result was favorable.

Results: This is not a favorable Yoga as Rahu and Ketu are in Kendra house, the person having this yoga will be mentally disturbed and dose not gets much help or support from others. He will have to face more that his fair share of obstruction in his life. He will be falsely accused for bad deeds which he did not commit. Either there is no marriage or his married life will be unstable and unhappy.

If Mercury is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then the person will have two marriages and both will end in separation or divorce. This is because Mercury is the lord of duel signs Gemini and Virgo.

If Venus is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then the spouse of the person dies within two years of marriage and he is immoral and addicted to sex unless if Ketu and Venus are in favorable aspect with Jupiter.

If Mars is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then the person may die in accident during 36th years of age. However if Lagna lord is strong and 7th house receives aspects from benefic planets then there will be accident but death will not take place.

If Jupiter is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then this combination also gives rise to Guru Chandal Yoga; the person will have some spiritual inclination and philosophical thinking but married life will be unstable, problems through male child/children and will have several enemies who can harm him financially. He will also lose money through gambling and court cases as Jupiter is natural significator of children, gambling and court cases and 7th house is related to marriage and open enemies.

If Saturn is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then the person's wife will be older than him, will have health problems for long period of time and will die during childbirth. But it also gives some spiritual and occult knowledge to the person.

If Sun or Moon is placed with Ketu in the 7th house then most malefic results of Anant Kaal Sarp Yoga will be experienced. This is because Sun and Moon are natural enemies of Rahu and Ketu and it also cause eclipse under certain conditions.

Anant Kaal Sarp Yoga is especially more malefic for longevity for persons born as Lagna (Ascendant) in common signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces because the 7th house becomes a Maraka as well as Bhadhak house (death inflicting as well as life obstructing house which are determent to longevity) and for these individuals.
